The exhibition opens with a playful sculpture, a medley of Zurich’s sights and a series of tongue-in-cheek, ultra short films featuring the city’s municipalities. The second room is a treasure chamber of sorts, displaying a wealth of museum-worthy and everyday objects against a backdrop of possible narratives. The third and final room presents a filmic installation that explores and reenvisions significant sites and landscapes in Zurich.
Alongside the exhibition, the project Einfach Zürich (Simply Zurich) creates and cultivates a network of multilayered relationships with cultural history institutions right across the canton. This network manifests itself in an extensive public programme, which also has an impact on the presentation at the Landesmuseum: the three exhibition rooms provide numerous possibilities for the exhibition to grow and evolve.
This is a beginning – it’s not an end.
Admission to the exhibition of Einfach Zürich is free.
A free ticket is available at the ticket office of the Landesmuseum Zürich.
